I bought a new HD Combination Analog Speedometer/Tachometer for my 09 RK and I need to calibrate/copy the old odometer info.
They supple a cable to connect the data link connector [91] to the new speedo. Seems strait forward, but nothing (no download, no lights...) happens when I follow the directions as they say to do. Run switch on ignition turned to IGN.
If I hook up the new speed to the normal connections and turn the bike on, I get lights and the "no cal" on the speedo which tells me the calibration did not occur.
I think I am using the data link connector [91]. I found it under the seat near the ECU and it the connector fits.
Any thoughts before I go to service? a y connector of the adapter har ness
I had the same problem and I am trying to remember what it was.I believe the problem was I disconnected the original speedo before calibrating the new one.The original speedo needs to be in the system when calibrating.

Reason: type o
You probably connected to an accessory plug (there is one with the same connector) rather than the diagnostic port. Its very easy and will go just as the instructions say, then install it and go
Your old speedo is not hooked up to the bike. The "no cal" is what you get when you try to install the new speedo and not transfer over the old mileage. I.E. your trying to get your new speedo to read zero miles and it won't let you do that. Its some stupid feature to keep people from just buying a new speedo when they want to sell the bike. Plug the old speedo back in to its factory port. Then it will transfer the mileage and then it will work.

Here's a thread I did a while back that covers the speedo installation - this was on my Dyna but the process, plug and the speedo is the same for both. Data port should be under the LH side cover - before removing anything for the old one you need to plug the new into the data port and wait for it to acquire your mileage. Then remove the old and install the new one, when you ride it there will be 31 (or something close to that) miles showing on the odometer, when that counts down to zero then it locks the miles and shows your correct figure.
