Default Bike wont start, battery is fine.

Okay the bike wont start, 06 sportster 1200R model, battery is fine, but the starter sounds like it is just clicking. Clicks once on each push of the start button. Any thoughts or ideas on how to test the starter?

I had a similar issue with a Yamaha I used to have. Pull the plugs out and see if it turns over. I had a leaky carb hydrolock my engine. With the plugs out it will open it up in case that is the issue. It will also make the engine easier to spin. If your starter is just weak, it may spin now, but not when the motor has compression.

How did you determine that the battery is fine? If it wasn't load tested it might not be good.
Check the battery cables, especially the ground, to make sure they are clean and snug.

Good. Then hopefully it's just a poor cable connection somewhere. The ground cable is a bit tricky to get to so it's easy to overlook it.

When I turn the key on, the security key light disappears, and then i push the button and the engine light comes on. Click. push the button again, click.

The negative cable is hard to deal with as the MoCo assembles it. Next time you take the battery out, move it to the stud on the back of the primary. That way, you can hook it up with the battery out, slide the battery in and then hook up the positive. Makes battery / cable maintenance much easier.

As far as the no start is concerned, check both cables on both ends ... Also, you might try putting the bike in gear and moving it a little bit, then taking it out of gear and trying to start it again ... Could just be a bad spot in the starter ...
