Default Küryakyn Iso Grip sticking.

Those who have the Iso Grips, are you have a little sticking when turning the throttle? Not the smooth roll on as with the stock, but just a little stick. And is there more up and down movement at the top of the grip? Or the whole grip have movement? Called Kuryakyn and asked if they have hear of any. Naturally they said no. I asked a few riders who had them and they said they did notice a little sticking. Have you?

When was the last time you lubed your throttle cables? Had a similar problem when I bought my bike. When I changed the grips I lubed up the cables real well and its smooth as glass now.

I always put a bit of white lithium grease inside the grip, and a few dabs on the outside of the big end that pulls the cables. I had the ISO's on my last bike, and the Kury 'Pilot' grips on my present bike with no problems.

It's possible the grip has fallen apart where the cables attach, mine did.

As suggested above, lube the cables and grip. I have had 4 sets of Iso grips and notice on the ones I have now,"12 Deluxe, the quality doesn't seem quite as good as previous grips.More slop in the throttle sleeve. I still like 'em though. Maybe it's my imagination.I'd like to hear if others feel this way.

When I replaced my ISO grips recently I noticed the throttle felt sticky also. Turns out the end of the grip was rubbing against the end of the bar. Moved the whole assembly out a hair and that took care of the problem.

2014 Electra Glides do not have cables. It an electronic throttle. I will try a little grease on the inside of the grip. I found a little rub marks on the top outer and looking into the grip body another rub mark. If the problem is with the grips, Kuryakyn should be made aware of the problem. It doesn't cause any problem it's just a minor pain in the a$$.

Shouldn't require any grease or oil. Do you have about 1/8" end play on the grip?

you didn't mention the year in your first post, so folks just had to assume whether or not you had tbw or cables.

having tbw, whenever I have seen 'sticking' problems, it has been because whoever installed them just jammed them on as far as they would go. can't do that, they will bind on the end. loosen up the clamshell and slide it out away from your handlebar about 1/16''. it will loosen up nicely and still engage the gear on the tbw.
