Unhappy switching over

I have a 1990 ultra classic frame with no motor or transmission....but i have a 2006 ultra classic motor and tranny will these two fit together????

I don't believe that would be easy. Twin Cam motor in Evo frame could have issues but if you're a handy fabricator anything's possible.

'90 had separate engine and transmission.
'06 had the engine & transmission bolted together.


If nothing else the engine and transmission mounts will be different. It would take more fabrication than you probably want (or have the ability) to do.

5 speed Touring bikes had the motor and transmission bolted together since 1980...rear mount is virtually the same...would mainly require fabricating the front mount...been done in FXR's for years...which is a very similar frame.

Google "twin cam in FXR" to see what it takes.

Yes it can be done with a few mods as Tom mentioned. Twin Cam FXR's are the hot thing to do right now.

There's a guy that modifies the Twin Cam oil pans over at HTT so you don't have to cut out or modify the crossmembers on the FXR frames. Really cool how he does it.

That cross member is for the mid controls/kickstand mount...touring bikes don't have it...so that would be a non issue in this case.
