the evo frames had a support downtube between the engine and the tranny. the twin cam frames don't have that because the engines are made of unit construction (ie-they are bolted together making them essentially one unit). asa result, the answer to your question is, no. a twin cam will not fit into an evo frame without A LOT of modification.

hope this helps.

Is it a bolt in? Absolutely not. There are adapters to install a "A" motor in a EVO frame.

Now a different answer to the same question. Will a "B" motor go into a EVO frame?, Yes. My bike has a "B" motor in a 97 EVO frame.

What I did is cut all of the mounts along with the backbone support out. I gained access to a TC frame from the local dealer that had been in an accident and was cut up for insurance purposes (I guess they send the neck back for a replacement frame). I ground the welds off of the mounts on that frame and used them on the new one.I didn't have a jig for a TC so I set the motor in the frame. Since the pivot bolt runs through the trans it dictated where the motor had to go. From there there isn't much choice in where the motor goes as far as left and right. At that point I welded the mounts that I took off of the other frame right where they sat. I had to fabricate a tab for the center support. I used a TC swing arm and EVO shocks. Had I thought about it I would have cut the TC shock mount off also. So I have a TC in an EVO frame.

The picture isn't the greatest however you can see I was welding and grinding on the frame to get it to do what i needed.

how does that softail ride and vibrate with the tc88b? i'm comming from a custom sporster and i'm looking to build something that i can hop around with and ride distance that is more comfortable than the sportster. i'm looking at sturgis next year ,1800 miles 1 way.

The Twin Cam Sofatil is better than my Evo Rigid but not as good as my TC "A" Bagger.

The answer is absolutely yes. All you need is the right adaptor on the back of the A motor

to bolt directly into your stock evolution frame. 1999 to 2005 will also except the evolution primaries directly bolted to them.

‘Man I don’t know how to tell you thins… but that bike won’t run in its present state. It’s missing handlebars, live to ride bling, and I think your rear chain might be out of alignment.

Not to mention this is 17 years old, and none of these guys have even been here in a while, and one got banned.
