Smile Vance and Hines BSS with Quiet Baffles

Howdy - After looking at buying some BCT Baffles and getting them in from the states (I am in Australia) I thought I would call one of my local Indy's. As the BSS is a very loud exhaust (especially without baffles as I currently am), he recommended the V&H Quiet Baffles as they take the crack out of the exhaust.

Have any of you blokes run the Q series baffles and what are your thoughts on them?

Any advice o feedback will be appreciated.

Chris

I put them in my Straightshots after a few months with standard baffles. The QT's took the bark out and left a pleasant rumble.

Thankls for replying Garslayer. I am still a bit undecided about the baffles. I ended up calling the Indy and said I would prefer the standard baffle but if the quiet is all he can get at the moment I would dettle on that. I am scared about it being restrictive to sound and performance. Has the quiet baffle made a noticeable difference to your bikes performance?

I got Quiet Baffels in my BSS. They are really not that quiet and after a hundred miles or so I found they got louder. Nice rumble, but not annoying. Performance wise, I couldent tell a differance.

I have the same set up. Quiet Baffels in after taking out the BCT baffles. They are not quiet in the least. They do however sound 100% better than the BCT baffles in my opinion.

I've been running the Quiet Baffles in my Big Shots Staggered for over 5 years now and I never did see much of a difference in them over the standard baffles.

I installed the quiet baffles on Saturday and I can report that I am really happy with them. There is a noticeable improvement in the low end and mid range torque and the sound is still crisp whilst not being obnoxious. I would definitely recommend them. If I could just find someone in Western Australia that could sell me one slash cut end cap for my pipes to replace the one that fell off. Thta is a mission for another day...

Nop, I engineered and made my own adjustable baffles BAVO dB killers. To be mounted by yourself in ten minutes into 3" or 2.5" open slip ons with a straight end. Slash cut or straight cut is no problem, but from the open end the slip on must be cylindrical for at least 4" from the tail. To be adjusted with a T-handle wrench, even with idle running engine into three steps: touring, smi open or full open..Made dB tests: touring 86dB idle and 90dB half throttle, semi-open idle 90 dB to 96 dB above half throttle and full open idle 96 dB to 104-106 dB above half throttle and more.
Adjust your soundlevel in ten seconds....Stop the bike, take your T-wrench and adjust your dB killers into the wanted and fixed position...
No expensive stuff for me. Only stainless steel BAVO dB killers for a few hundred bucks...In September available via Internet..

I have an 06 SG with True Duels. I put the BCT quiet baffels in over a year ago. There really wasn't much difference in the sound. I recently put the V&H quiet baffles in. They seem just as loud. But they seem to have a deeper tone. I think it sounds better with the VH baffels then the BCT quiet baffels. Just my .02
