It is because the clutch cable is too low once you put the bike on the side stand the fluid remaining in the cover leaks out. They way around it is to reroute the cable in such a way that it is above the frame instead of below.

Ok thanks Mark, so is some truth to it. Does it leak from the end of cable near the foot clutch or from the adjuster?

Adjuster, just route it up around the down tube or some such.

Mine has never leaked. It has been on the softail for about 3 years and gets ridden regularly.

How do you have your cable routed?
Is the shift lever in a good position where you dont bump it at stops? The reason i ask is a custom shop here said lots of guy complain about the angle/placement, of course followed by "but i can make you one thats better......$$$$".

I think the LA Chopper kits are a waste of money. you can make your own kit for 10 bucks if you have access to a welder. The first jockey shift I had used the stock cable it wrapped around a few times but pull was easy and it never failed. Also mine never leaked either. I have since made a custom cable but the stock one worked awesome.

Mine has never leaked. Make sure your o-ring on the trap door side is good. LaBriola makes a good kit, plan on waiting about 6 weeks to get it.
