Default Few General Softail Questions....

1)I installed fat mini apes on my deluxe and they have provisions for internal wiring, however i chose to not do so, and now i can not get the switch housing/clutch brake housings on the bike without pinching the wires. Has anyone else run into this problem? If so how did you remedy it short of running the wires inside the bars?

2) What size torx bit is used to tighten up the rear floorboards/pegs. The big bit that goes on the frame.

3) i DL'd a tune similar to mine for the PCIII but the pipes are a tad different. I have the crossovers and the tune is for&nbsp\\; "full exhaust rinehart" will there be any BIG issues?

Also, my bike has been running badly, like it has bad gas. It was laid over by my buddy, and i rode it home, no problems other than cosmetic. When i got it back from the painter it was running like its got bad gas in the tank. Starts, idles terrible, then shuts off and white smoke puffs out the intake.

I am guessing the your only, true option is to run the wires internally. I just put a Chubby W0504 on my FLSTCI which has a provision for internal wiring but does not have the recessed areas like my stock handlebar that would have allowed me to run the wires externally. I think without that recessed area, you are out of luck as there is no way to otherwise keep from crimping the wires.

&nbsp\\;I agree with Pulchritude.&nbsp\\; There should be a dimple in the handlebars to allow the wires to exit under the clamp.&nbsp\\;

i bought a soldering gun, heat shrink tubing, and extra wires to extend the wires and run internally. i will have pics tomorrow.

On a plus note, i put new gas and some carb/fuel cleaner in the tank and the bike is running fine now.

Internal wiring is&nbsp\\;mandatory when you install APEs...
&nbsp\\;
Sounds like you were in a rush to get the bars on...
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I always say.... "You don't have time to do it right the first time but you have time to do it again.."
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Take your time with the wiring and splicing.&nbsp\\; You will be glad you did because it really cleans up the bars.
