Default Really needing some help on some front end fitment issues.(Long)

Hello all,

I am in the process of customizing my 2007 Fatboy. So far I have ordered the Heartland 250 conversion kit, Accutronix Gothic forward controls and matching grips, RC Components Raven wheels (18x3.5 and 18x8.5) with avon rubber, matching raven pulley and rotors.

I am wanting to get away from the look of the fatboy front end with the enclosed tins and big head light. I want more of a FXSTC/chopper look. I have talked to many people over the past week and nobody can give me any solid information on what parts I need to order to make this all work. Everyone acts like they have never heard of such?? Is it really that big of a deal?? I called harley and the FXSTC and the FLSTF frames both have the same part number so whats so complicated about this? All the aftermarket dealers I call wont give me any solid info before I place an order guareenting this to all fit up. Accutronix claims to have a 41mm triple tree that will fit my fatboy frame....ok. So now we need fork tubes and fork legs. Well, nobody seems to make any aftermarket lower fork legs. They are all 1984-1999?? What the hell? So now I have fitment issues with my 2000-up brake caliper. Nobody can tell me if the adapter brakets for the calipers will work or not. Nobody can tell me if my HD street slammer bars will work on the triple trees. What front fender to buy? It just seems like nobody is willing to help.

RC components is waiting for me to tell them what type of front end im going to have so that they can finish my front wheel. I would really appreciate any help you all can give me because I am about ready to give up.

Any ideas? Advice?

If anyone would rather talk then type my number is 580-916-8936

Thanks in advance.

Well if the part numbers for the frame are the same, why cant u just get a complete frontend for a reqular softail? I see them all the time with the smooth chrome fork sliders or black in like j&p or one of those catalogs. Ill do some research where that ive seen them and post back up later.

I have not seen a aftermarket "complete front end assembly" made for 2000-up softail. As far as just ordering a complete front end from Harley....I dont want the stock lower legs. I want the smooth torpedo and/or missle style lower legs.

Does the 84-99 models have a different triple tree than the 2000-up??

Here is a picture of my friends Fatboy converted looking like a Night Train. He went with the Heartland 250 Kit and used the stock Night Train forward controls. He also changed his forks as you can see. PM me if you want to contact him and I will give you his email address.
