Default 97 Road King Trottle problem?

On the way into work this morning, I pulled up to a stop sign and the motor started racin. playing with the trottle got the idle down. Afterthat however, every time I give it gas, the motor acts like is run outta gas until I back down on the throttle.
My ENG light came on also. I have fuel injection.
Anybody experience anythig similar?
Thanks

Sounds alot like what I'm dealing with. Maybe a little different, but the symptoms are pretty similar. On this bike the idle increases after about 15 min., and while it's at that high idle it has a really bad case of throttle hesitation. Then it'll idle back down (on it's own), after about 5 min. and runs perfectly ... for a while. Then it goes through it all again. I've checked the power commander. Makes no difference whether it's plugged in or not. I'm trying to find out if the crankshaft position sensor has anything to do with it. I also have a feeling it has something to do with a component or something overheating and shutting down when it does. Then when it cools it starts working again, til it heats up again. Anyone have a theory about that, or know if I'm on the right track at least?
I'm looking for some answers about this. If anyone knows of a cure for this problem please let (us) know.

Try cleaning the throttle body and the map sensor with some spray cleaner.
