Cool no sert for 01' FLHTCI

ok so I've decided to go with the Screaming Eagle Race Tuner, but comes to find out that Screaming Eagle does not make a sert for the 01' FLHTCI!!! What other alternative do I have without a third party ECM??? any suggestions???

You want a 3rd party ECM anyway since HD doesn't "make" them anyway, they buy them from Magneti-Marelli or Delphi. If the PCIII fails you can unplug it and still ride the bike home. Remember, DynoJet was HD's first choice for tuning devices but an agreement could not be reached, thus the SERT. Remove any Stage-X reflash and Dyno tune your bike and go riding. I'm at the "Stage IV"-type mods now and there are no issues. If you have DEEP pockets you can purchase a ThunderMax with Autotune, drill your headpipes for the 02 sensors, and have tuning on the fly. It's an expensive option.

I use the S.E. Race Fueler, a dfo type device, but have heard that the PCIII was a better option for tuning the Magnetti-Marelli FI than the Race tuner anyway. If you want to stay with reprogramming your ECM, Technoresearch makes Direct-Link software for MM FI.

You just need to find a tuning center that uses it. I think they have a list on their website.

I am not sure from your post whether you were told that "Screaming Eagle does not make a sert for the 01'" in the past or that they are no longer currently available. It may help you to know that they did make them at one time. A Screaming Eagle Race Tuner (32127-03) was installed on my 2001 Roadking on October 4, 2005 by Freedom Harley-Davidson in Denver CO. While there may be better things now, this SERT did wonders for my 95" (Joe Minton) build.

While with the SERT, there's no additional hardware to fail. The only way the SERT fails is if the ECM takes a dump on you. PCIII can't help you if that happens.

I have a DFO. It works great. Easy to install. Easy to tune. Great throttle response. Good gas mileage. I couldn't ask for more for the 99 bucks it cost me.

Hmmm...

I had one put on my FLHTCUI last fall by a Harley dealer when he built my 95". I didn't know they don't have them, unless ultra's are different for some reason.
