Default New Michelin Commander II's & Valve Stems

Just changed my front & rear tires to Michelin Commander II's, and the first 200 miles have me feeling impressed from the stock Dunlops. However, the best deal was that I had the dealer change my stock valve stems to angled aluminum stems which I got from Mani @ Wheel Junkie, for $22.05 with shipping, Harley should include these as they make checking pressure and adding air so much easier. Be sure to order the 11.3mm size for a perfect fit, these are a quality item at a great price. I choose black, but if you want to make them earier to find, you may want to choose silver or a color to match the bike. The black ones blend in as you can see in the photo. http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showp...06&postcount=1

Sweet. I've got some Michelin Commander II's on order for my Road King. I'm looking forward to giving them a try.

I like the new valve stems too.

So, I've got 17K on my Dunlops and it looks like 18-19K before they need replacing.
what's up with the French tires?

Their claim is twice the mileage of the Dunlops or something like that. I just got a new set and I'm happy with them, as well. You really can't go wrong with anything Michelin.

I got 17k on the original set of Dunlops, and could have probably pushed them to 20K. I heard great things about the Commander's and the testing that showed twice the life, so I decided to give them a try. They seem to be more responsive to steering input, and my local dealer was having a 1/2 off tire and mounting, so I got both installed "out the door" for $370 which I thought was a great price. I got the same response on the valve stems from the Harley dealers, "not sure if they would work on Harley rim, not sure of what size, etc". For $22 I decided I would give them a try, tech at dealer said they worked fine and were a well made product. They can be ordered from Drag Specialties & Custom Chrome, but are more expensive than the source I used.
