Default tore my seat

After riding this weekend I discovered 2 small tears on my seat. After some investigation i figured out I was dragging my right boot over the seat and the eyelets on my Redwing boots were catching the seat, totally bummed out. I did some online reasearch on vinyl patches and nothing really seemed great. I called several uphostery shops and they all said the seat would have to be re-covered. Except one guy who told me to get some krazy glue gel and fix it. I got some tweezers to hold it in place it worked. Looks ok and will stop the seat from tearing anymore. I put a little black magic marker on it after it dried.

nice- who cares as long as it works.

maybe this'll help...motor officers alway mount from the right side...that way if you loose balance, you are pushing the bike against the jiffy stand.

I've gotten used to it, it can be a better way to mount up.

I always mount and dismount on the right side. Just seems more natural. The mirror is too close to use the left side.

I got in a habit of mounting and dismounting on the right side, but after burning holes in 3 rainsuits I changed back to the left side, NO MORE BURN HOLES. Yes I have short legs.

I just mount and dismount using the pegs, the same way you would get on a horse. I never have to worry about dragging my feet along the seat

You didn't mention if your dealing with a stock or after market seat. If your talking about a stock seat, check out : richscustomseats.com . He has stock seat covers for sale, usually 25 bucks, I bought 2 from him after I did the same thing on my Street Glide, the covers were like new, 25 for the cover and 20 for a local shop to staple it back on.

Never thought about this much. I almost always get on and off on left side unless pulling up to gas station on left or when I'm parking close to something on left side. I almost always catch my right speaker when I get off on the left side. Hmmmm.
