Default Gps units

I just bought a 2010 Ultra that has a fairing mounted GPS bracket. I did not get the GPS unit with it just the mount. is there other brands of GPS units that will fit it or do I need to buy the HD unit?

Do you know it is an HD bracket? The HD gps unit is a branded Garmin AFAIK, so it is likely you can buy one of them. Plenty of threads about gps units to browse through, or someone will probably call by soon!

Most brackets have a standard 4 hole system that you mount the GPS holder to, so you can probably use any GPS you like.

does it look like this?

if so then either Garmin Zumo 665 or 660

or the HD rebranded versions (RoadTech) of the 660 and 665 will work.

if it is this mount the thing I would want to check is whether it has the navigation interface wiring harness installed inside the fairing. If so, you'll probably want to go with the HD version as it's the only one that will work with the NAV interface and allow turn by turn directions to come through your stock headunit.

Yep thats it, I'm told by Garmin it only fits the zumo 660 and 665 . I think this$600.00 + dollars is crazy for a gps unit, don't look like I have a lot of options

Pretty big price, but it has a ton of features. It doubles as a bluetooth, mp3 player and such as well as telling you where to go.

It can also be used in any vehicle you have with the included auto bracket..

In my opinoin worth every penny. Only buy it once and enjoy it! It does what it is designed for and very well. Waterproof, easy on off of the bike and works through your radio.

one of the units has integrated SiriusXM as well complete with weather map/radar overlays, VERY helpful if you're trying to outrun or avoid showers on a long trip...as well as traffic, nearest HD Dealer, gas station, resturant, strip club...any point of interest you want to know about...and it talking to you through the stereo and headset you can actually HEAR it

With the HD units can they just bluetooth the info(music and directions) without going thru the radio. I've got bluetooth headsets for comunication.
