Default Help: check engine and battery lamp on?

2012 HD EG Ultra, coming home tonite, the yellow check engine light and red battery lamp indicator came on. I noticed the volt meter gauge was reading about 12 volts, when it normally shows about 15 volts. At some point, both lights went off and the volt meter gauge jumped up to 15 volts, where it normally runs.

Any thoughts? Charging system or battery?

Thanks, Mark

FUNNY you posted about this.... mine did it 2x over the last 4 days.... wasn't anything bad... my lights came on, i looked down volts were about 12, lights went off and everything was normal.... that was on the way to TX from LA.

did it once on the way back after about 3 hours on the road... same thing. just a blink of the lights and back to normal!

This happened to me in June. It was the voltage regulator, even though it was outside of those affected by the recall bulletin.
