Not impressed with Rineharts Chrome, again!
To start off my last bike was a Nightrain softail with Vance and Hines big Radius 2-2 pipes, and the chrome always looked great after all the years I owned it. My Street gilde got a Rinehart extreme true dual 3.5 at first and after about 8 months the chrome head pipe shields started to lose its luster and looked scratched. I do polish and I don't over clean, I put about a 1000 miles on a month and do longer road trips. But the poor quality of the the shields was always an eye sore to me. Next I switched to Vance and Hines dresser dual head pipe and 4" Rinehart slip-ons that I've had less than a year and the Rineharts mufflers are starting to look like my last set of heat shields did. The Vance and Hines look like brand new, and the stock Harley chrome looks like brand new. None of this effect performance but its just an eye sore and I felt like bitching. I love he sound of my Rineharts and since the 3.5 mufflers looked good I figured the 4" would and maybe it was just the heat shields that had a poor chrome job done. Anyone else not impressed with the quality of the Rinehart chrome? At least Ive been lucky and both set of black end caps have stayed blay and not turned puple like a few other tips ive seen over the years.
Now I think I'm looking at the Boarzilla by D&D, whats the long term quality of the D&D chrome?
On my chrome I use the s100 chrome polish from the Harley dealer, I've tried others but it still looks the same.
Sadly I shouldn't be complaining because its still warm enough to ride here but I just finished cleaning and detailing from riding in the rain this weekend escorting the Wreaths across America to one of our local Vet cemetery's.
This chrome been bugging me for a couple months and I had some free time the complain.
On a good note here's a pic from last weekends escort, we also had the PGR with us.
