Default Pro pipe chrome vs Pro pipe HS

Hi all,

I called Vance and Hines today and asked what the difference was between the Pro Pipe Chrome and the HS model. The rep said it was just the heat shields. However I think there is more to it. I like the look of the chrome model however I do not want discolored pipes. Also sine the chrome model is 100 more I figure it must be better right? Can anyone shed some light on this please.

Thanks!

You don't state what bike you want to put these pipes on. The ProPipe and the ProPipe HS do not have a provision for an oxygen sensor. The ProPipe BP and the ProPipe Chrome do. The ProPipe HS will turn blue or yellow at the megaphone area of the pipe after many miles. Mine turned at or about 60,000 miles. The best performance I got from the Vance and Hines was the ProPipe HS. The BP was almost as good but not the same. I have not tried the ProPipe Chrome. I hope that helps.

It is going on a dyna super glide 2012. On the website they list the pro pipe available in chrome, HS, and HO. The HO is out due to the fact I only am at stage 1. The chrome would be my first choice as long as it will go 50k without changing color I am okay with that. The chrome model looks to have a larger hole at the end of the megaphone. Which is why I am assuming the performance may be better with the chrome over the HS. However if the performance is the same the blue proof finish on the HS model is attractive. Decisions decisions......
