Default Top End Noise Through The A/C

I'm looking for some feedback from people who are use any of the "open type" air cleaners like the Performance Machines, Kuryaken, etc. Unlike the stock "football" A/C cover which baffles the intake (and top end) noise emanating through the throttle body, the A/C's I mentioned just have the filter element between the top end and your ears. Is it a noticeable increase in top end noise one hears when using one of those air cleaners?

With any open type performance air filter you can here more.

Maybe not so much with stock cams. I have aftermarket cams and it is noticeable louder but not annoying to me.

First noticed it with the TW 222's, now with the TW 777's it is more noticeable. But I don't call it noise, more of a concert.

some riders complain of a 'fluttering" noise from the intake at certain speeds.

for the most part the noise of air rushing will be predominant.

I tend to keep my thighs to the tanks, which helps with this

I have never noted any valve clatter from the intake, I get alot of that bouncing back from the fairing & lowers

And even more noise when you vent your breathers to atmosphere. If you are attentive to the noises you will recognise what each one is.

I have a PM Super Gas with stock internals. It seems the sucking type sound is the same I had with a SE Heavy Breather and a Big Sucker on other bikes. You just here it breathing when you get on the throttle. At least that's how I describe my experiences. Not annoying or anything, just takes a couple miles to get used to

I didn't care for the chuffing noise that I got with my open Fuel Moto billet A/C because I thought it interfered with the great sound from my pipes. I use the football outer cover mostly, but I keep the billet cover I have in the tour pak.
