Just wanted to check a noise im getting. Just installed the S/E air filter kit (type that uses original cover) and this morning on first test ride when i go from half to full throttle i get a "barrrrrrrrr" sound? im sure its normal as the amount of extra air being sucked in? i havent got my slip ons on there at the mo so could really here it.
Is this normal??
cheers

Without actually hearing it, hard to tell...(as long as no leaks caused by faulty installation)...probably normal for the increase in air volume now being pumped into the motor....
Now you know that the stock air filter is actually a silencer. What you are hearing is induction noise, it's normal.
Yep, freaked me out too. After installing mine, I started it up and gave it a couple revs and heard all the noise and the "woosh" and though I made a mistake somewhere. I ended up taking the whole AC off, and re-installing, I thought I missed a gasket or something.

I must be deaf because I have the K&N air charger which is really wide open and I don't hear doodlie-squat from it 'cept I do hear my Khrome Werks moooof-lers emulating a nice deep tone. 'Suppose I could bend over and put my ear to the thing while riding but either I'd be making a continuous right turn or I'd end up in the woods hahahahaha.
In any event to be safe I'll take you'alls word for it that it goes barrrrrrrrrrrr or wooosh or whatever that sucking sound sounds like, LOL!

lol barrrrrr is the best I could describe it. I have found it makes a big difference with it fitted, now just need to get my khrome werks slip ons fitted

Big difference, I had a k&n filter before in the stock housing but this is much better. More responsive and smoother in the low end plus the sucking barrrrrrr sound lol
