Did you just fill it up prior to parking it?

Did you just have a long ride?

Sometimes the small things get you....is the gas cap on nice and snug?

Just shooting things out here...

If you filled up just prior to parking, it could be leaking from the overflow. If the gas cap is not on tight, it could emit the smell. If you ride up and park it in the garage while its still smoking hot, it will emit gas fumes until it cools off.

My 08 does that sometimes after a long ride. Usually more in the winter than summer. A buddy told me it was normal. It's not an overwhelming odor, never lasts too long (maybe an hour), I've never seen any puddles, etc., and the bike always runs fine. So, I don't even worry about it anymore.

...that is why the CA bikes have a charcoal canister.
The fumes are held by the canister, then burned by the motor on start up.

This is generally only annoying- it can be dangerous if enough gas accumulates and there is a source of ignition- a motor starting up, smoking, a GAS WATER HEATER...this is why modern code has the gas heater on a pedestal.
Gasoline fumes are heavier than air and hug the floor.

In AZ in is common to see garage doors cracked about 6". This helps prevent fumes build up in the garage.

Don't fill up just before parking, gas comes out of the storage tanks cool and expands in teh tank...if you top off it may overflow
check the cap is tight or correct- here's a thread on bad cap:

or it could be a completely mistuned bike running way rich

I've got a '14 SGS and it doesn't smell. It's under warranty so I'd have it checked out.

It's a gasoline powered vehicle. It is going to smell like gas for a short time after parking it. If I park the bike in the garage after a ride and close the garage door it will smell like a gas station quickly and can even smell it inside the house after awhile.

I either leave the bike outside for 15 minutes after riding or pull it in and leave the garage door open a couple of feet for 15 minutes. No gasoline fumes!

My riding buddy ran into an issue with his gas cap on his new '14 SG on our 9 day vacation/ride. replaced it at the next HD dealer. the dealer said they have replaced several gas caps that were bad. so maybe yours is bad as well. I can't remember exactly what it was that was bad about it, but I do remember hearing it when we stopped to fuel up and asked him what was up. said he was having problems with it. new cap fixed that problem.

I pull into the garage and put a small fan next to the left side blowing at the engine. Cools it off faster and keeps the heat from sitting there and soaking into the tank. Since doing this, no more gas smell at all.
