Default Heated Grips

I konw HD doesn't recall parts but has anyone know of a defect with their heated grips. I had them installed on my Road King right before winter. I used them two time and when spring came they no longer worked and out of warrenty. I bought a new Ultra had them put on the grips and they stopped working after a few time. These are covered but I'm hearing from other that they have had a lot of trouble with them. I would like to have them fixed on the Road King. Any ideas on getting Harley to back their stuff?
