Stopped by the Dealership today for the sole purpose of looking at the new Engine Guard and I was dissapointed, the rubber pieces where you put your foot on are stuck on with somekind of two sided tape, [:@] now that'cheap
If so, that bites. Buddy of mine that rides a honda got in some decent ones today, similar to the HD Mustache guard I showed him a while back. It's a Lindby Linbar . Anyone got one of them?
Amused I don't mean that I didn't like the look I just don't know how long the tape or glue will hold the pad's on, heck I went there to buy the darn thing until I saw that, anyway's good luck with yours.

They seem pretty sturdy to me. My dealer put them on at delivery and gave me a 4 year warranty on them, along with the rest of the bike and all accessories I had installed at delivery.
So if they don't hold up, they'll make it good.[sm=itsok.gif]
I had a Lindby bar on a Road King I had and the Road Glide I now own. I like to keep my legs straight and close to the tank and the Lindby bar does the trick. I've never been felt comfortable with my legs out at a wide angle and I feel I have more control with my legs against the gas tank. It is a matter of personal preference. I don't have a picture to share because my bike is being fixed because of an accident I just had but you can find pics on the internet. You can even purchase soft lowers for them.
Good luck,
Jeff
I have the Linby Bars for my 02 Road King. When I purchased they neglected to tell me that it does not work well with the stock brake pedal. The pedal is too high and my boot heel rests on the pad. Had to purchase a lower style brake lever. Looks as well as it functions....
Ride safe
I've got a lot of faith in Harley products...maybe I'm stupid
I think that a common trademark is that you know if it has the HD on it, you're good...how long have they been making those bars? Is there anyone in your local H.O.G. that has them?
The new H-D bar is a nice alternative to the Lindby Bar. Some owners have told me they don't like the Lindby's sharp corners, so the new H-D product should satisfy them.
In time, we'll see how durable the rubber pads are.
I've got faith in them also and I like the look of the HD bar better than the Lindby bar and after seeing what you guy's think about the bar you've about talked me back into it. You know I guess the part's guy sort of scared me away by saying right of the bat that he didn't even know about the replacement pad's as of yet , Yea that's the way to build up a customer on a new product and he said that when I said, is that paid taped on.[&:]
