Default Sundowner seats = +

Well 4 wks ago, i hurt my lower back, had to stay home from work for 2 weeks, lucky, i've got sick leave. I had bought a sundowner seat for my Road King Custom some time ago, but because of the Oregon weather haven't had the chance to check it out. This week, I had that chance, and let me tell you, I'm very pleased with the new seat. Oh, my back is still sore, I'm still going to the doctor to get it adjusted , but, I was able to ride for a total of 5 hrs, and while on the seat, was almost pain free, no kidding!! No dout, the deep well in the seat had a lot to do with it, it gave me some much needed back support, but, i'm sure if i'd had the driver backrest as well, it would have been even better, so, you know what that means? Just thought I'd let you know, there is hope for people with injured backs.

I've put over 35K miles on a Sundowner and Rider backrest. Best purchase I ever bought.

One of the first changes on my 08 FLHX was to change to a Sundowner seat, and love it.

The wife loves it, so now she wants to ride more with me.

Based on reviews here and in other forums, I replaced the seat on my Sportster w/ a Sundowner. My wife LOVES the new seat, but I find it to be less comfortable than the stock HD seat. Any suggestions?

I have been shopping for a Sundowner for my 2005 RK custom (FLHRSI). Each time I see one here or elsewhere for sale (i.e. new or used) that is supposed to fit my bike, it is shaped a little different in the bucket? Anyway, why and what are the reasons for the different shapes. Do the different shapes have different names? Or, are these just different year models? And, are there shapes which are more comfortable that others? My wife and I both have back issues and don't want to keep buying seats to find the right one.

And lastly, what is the rule of thumb for buying a used seat? Do they lose fluff or comfort?

Thanks in advance.

Best,

E.
