Default powder coating question

Ok, so I am having a set of 16" apes and risers powder coated semi black and well I have a question. I have red rims and hubs with black spokes and soon black apes and currently have kury flame grips but here is where my question is. I was thinking, if I am not mistaken, the rubber part of the grips is replaceable and well removeable and so this is where my idea takes off. i was thinking of taking out the rubber inserts (well ordering a new set because I am taking the ones off my stock bars and I am assuming they will be tore up after the removeal) and having the metal outside shell powdercoated red. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks

i have done them, mostly in black but i have done them... they look good, wiht all the black you are adding you should toss on a black wheel stripe on your rims to really make the red pop

Thanks Joe! I knew I should have just asked you.
I really like your idea of the strip, how do you do that?
Thanks again.
