Quail Motorcycle Gathering

Celebrating 1990s off-roaders and the 50th anniversary of the CB750, Quail event is likely the most fancy of motorcycle events.

Usually when you think of the Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel, California, it’s in the context of the most magnificent vehicles ever assembled, surrounded by guests dressed to the nines, with bank accounts to match. Not quite the place you’d expect a motorcycle celebration, Harleys or otherwise.

And yet, since 2008, The Quail has played host to the annual Quail Motorcycle Gathering. This year is no exception, as the 11th annual riders event will be held May 3 to May 4. The weekend promises some great riding and big display of cool bikes to check out.

The Quail Ride

The weekend kicks off with The Quail Ride, on Friday May 3. The ride is a 100-mile journey through the stunning Monterey Peninsula. Afterwards riders will enjoy dinner and admission to the Motorcycle Gathering. All bikes are welcome for the ride, from classic to straight outta’ Milwaukee.

Quail Motorcycle Gathering

This year’s gathering at The Quail pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of Honda’s original Universal Japanese Motorcycle, the CB750. Another tribute is to all manner of off-road bikes through the 1990s.

And of course, there will be plenty of Harleys, as well as other motorcycles from all eras, and all around the world. It is a diverse collection to gaze upon at the fanciest of motorcycle celebrations.

The Quail Ride

But this is a motorcycle event, after all. In addition to some truly rare H-D machines, vintage bikes, and custom builds; this crowd is much more likely to be riding leather-clad, not donning a top hat!
