Age is Just a Number: Harley Edition

Think you’re tough? How about a cross-country ride on a stock Dyna?

Anyone who complains that they wish they were still young has nothing on this guy we found on Reddit. Not only is he taking long road trips on his Harley, he’s doing it on a Dyna without bags or a windshield. With everything he needs — including a spare tire — strapped to the rear fender or front bars, he’s really roughing it.

According to his post, the last time he took a trip like this was back when he was 19. He’s now in his 50s and he says it’s much better now than it was before. While Oklahoma is pretty far from our office, we’d happily buy this dude a beer if we ran into him on his travels. He’s tough as nails. Who knows? Maybe he’ll make his way to California sometime soon.

What’s the longest trip you’ve ever taken on your Sportster, Dyna, or Softail?

In that time, he's also contributed to Autoweek, The Drive, and Scale Auto Magazine.

He bought his first car at age 14 -- a 1978 Ford Mustang II -- and since then he’s amassed an impressive and diverse collection of cars, trucks, and motorcycles, including a 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Mystic Cobra (#683) and a classic air-cooled Porsche 911.

In addition to writing about cars and wrenching on them in his spare time, he enjoys playing music (drums and ukulele), building model cars, and tending to his chickens.
