Angry Neighbor Vandalizes Harley, Biker Responds like a Champ
Doesn’t anybody talk anymore?
We can’t think of many things worse than having our Harley-Davidson vandalized, but that’s exactly what happened to Rob Supeene of Vancouver, British Columbia, reports Canada’s CTV News. Under cover of darkness, an angry neighbor vandalized Supeene’s beloved Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide on two separate occasions.
On the first occasion, the bike’s seat was slashed with a knife and the gas tank was scratched up. The second incident happened a few weeks later when white paint was dumped all over the bike.
Why would someone damage somebody else’s property like that? The answer seems to lie in a crudely-scrawled note left after the first incident. It seems that the noise from Rob’s bike is annoying one of his neighbors, but instead of addressing it like an adult, they took the childish route and vandalized the bike.
Rob’s message to the vandal? “Stop it. Grow up.” Thankfully, Rob has the support of most of his neighbors, who have stood behind him during this tough time.
Rob is a courteous motorcyclist who understands that his motorcycle might be loud, and he says he’s careful to make as little noise as possible when leaving early in the morning or arriving home late at night.
Besides his support network of neighbors, Rob also has an ace up his sleeve. After the first incident, he installed a security camera, which captured the second incident. Rob was not only able to get a good look at the vandal on video – he was also able to follow the trail of white paint back to the vandal’s home!
Rob has notified the RCMP of the crmes and has forwarded his information to them. While the damage to his bike – some $10,000 worth – will be covered by insurance, it’s the principle of the situation. We certainly understand Rob wanting to fix the problem before it happens again, and we here at HDForums certainly hope that justice is served.
