BUILDUP A 2008 Cross Bones Project

Though HDForums member Skeezmachine may claim that this is not a build and is more of a project, we care to disagree.

Through and through, this “project” qualifies easily to be included in this week’s BUILDUP feature! Skeezmachine bought his 2008 Cross Bones new back in ’08, and since then it has undergone quite a lot of transformations.

Originally, the plan was to make it into a glorious bobber. However, that changed when his wife decided that she wanted to ride on it as well and he moved toward making it in more of a Springer style.

Sadly, things did change and when his wife left the picture, Skeezmachine was left with his two sons (who will certainly be future riders!) and his ’08 Cross Bones decked out for two.

After a while he decided it was time to move a different direction with his bike. He bought a 2012 Softail gas tank with a Hard Candy Custom paint job for a fraction of what it was worth on Ebay, and then the build began.

We won’t attempt to spell out everything that Skeezmachine has done to this wonderful hog, but he has added  14″ Wild One Outlawz, a fresh set of gaskets and breathers, a Shadetree fender, repaired the stator, and more.

In addition to this, many parts are soon to be powder-coated to give the bike a clean and black look!
