Paris Harley-Davidson Hosts Red Hot Chili Cook-Off

April 15 Texas event benefits veterans and features live music, badass bikes and Kickstands Up star Adam Sandoval filming all the action.

Chili Con Carne. Five-Alarm Chili. Rocky Moutain Chili. If you love chili, you’ll want to hop on your Harley and head on down to Paris, Texas, on April 15 for the 15th Annual Chili Cook-Off.

In addition to spending an afternoon talking Harleys with fellow enthusiasts, you can sample over 25 different chilis for a $10 donation, which will benefit the Red River Valley Veterans Memorial. Proceeds will specifically go toward the construction of a new memorial honoring our American soldiers.

Taking place at the Paris Harley-Davidson, the day includes a fun run and musical entertainment by totally awesome Eighties tribute band Live 80 and country rock group Twisted Whisky.

At noon, Harley-riding filmmaker Adam Sandoval (pictured) will be filming an episode of his celebrated Web series Kickstands Up. Also, Buffalo Joes will be there tending to the beer garden.

Wrapping up the day, trophies will be handed out to the top three winners of the chili cook-off, plus one will be given for people’s choice.

If you’re interested in showing off your culinary skills and entering the contest, you’ll need to keep in mind that true chili is defined by the International Chili Society as any kind of meat cooked with chili peppers, various spices and other ingredients, with the exception of items such as beans or spaghetti, which are strictly forbidden.

Oh, and you’ll also need to bring five gallons of your concoction. Five gallons!
