Custom Harley-Davidson Breakout 117 Is a True ‘Speed Freak’
Hailing from Switzerland, this custom Harley-Davidson Breakout 117 looks every bit as quick as it actually is.
Once a distinctly American entity, Harley-Davidson has become incredibly popular in other parts of the world over the years, which isn’t terribly surprising. There’s just something that folks outside of the U.S. find appealing about certain, traditional American things like muscular motorcycles, after all. As such, a large number of talented shops in other countries have been churning out incredible builds for some time now, with the most recent being this – a custom Harley-Davidson Breakout 117 from Swiss builder Bündnerbike.
Dubbed Speed Freak II, this Harley-Davidson Breakout 117 is a truly unique and impressive piece, one that sports a large number of parts that come directly from its builder’s catalog – combined with plenty of custom bits and pieces. Bündnerbike provided quite a lot of them itself, including the single piece swingarm, one-piece 18-inch rear and 21-inch front wheels, pulley, rear brake, timing belt, handlebars, grips, controls, LED lighting, fuel cap, and saddle.
That same Swiss outfit also 3D-printed the rear fender on this muscular cruiser, giving it a unique tank to boot. If all of that isn’t enough, Bündnerbike supplied the air ride suspension setup, fork, fork bridge, adapter brake, foot rests, shifter linkage, and a shortened stand for the build. There are a couple of aftermarket bits and pieces present here, however – the Grisons bike brake and engine cover, but otherwise, it’s mostly a one brand build.
The exhaust system came from a familiar place, too – Jekyll & Hyde – which in this case is adaptive to keep it quiet enough to be road legal in Switzerland. To that base, Bündnerbike added two-tone blue and gold paintwork, with gold graphics and lettering, along with high-gloss blue powder-coated wheels sporting gold rims. Further details consist of a Capricorn on the air filter, which was hand-painted in gold as well.
Add it all up, and this custom Harley-Davidson Breakout 117 lives up to its name, if but in looks only. There aren’t a ton of performance mods present here, after all, but these bikes are quite potent from the factory, in all fairness.
