First Motorcycle Fail Ever?
Motorcycles and stunt riding have gone hand in hand since the motorcycles inception. People just naturally need to push the limits of anything they are given, no matter what the risks or dangers are. It goes all the way back to the 1920’s when one of the first fail videos was ever recorded.
The man riding the motorcycle is Fred Osborne, and in the video, everything that could go wrong does. This is perhaps the first ever, recorded, attempt at jumping a motorcycle off a cliff and using a parachute to stop your fall.
Watch.
According to Osborne, who did survive this ultimate fail, the motorcycle jumped off Huntington Cliff in Los Angeles at 60 mph, but that wasn’t enough. The parachute didn’t have enough time to fully deploy and Osborne hit a set of telephone wires that broke his fall. Osborne was injured badly, but indeed survived. Just goes to show you though, we aren’t the first generation to do stupid things on camera.
