Greatest Son Ever Buys Dad Harley, Gets Rewarded
Teen surprises father with new bike because he needed a riding partner. What happens next is especially cool and unexpected!
We all do our best to raise our kids right. If we’re lucky, they’ll grow up to be successful and happy. Maybe they’ll even become interested in the things that we love, like everything Harley-Davidson. But if you’re really lucky, your offspring might grow up and actually buy you a Harley. Not only because he or she is a great kid, but because hey, they need a riding partner anyway.
East Petersburg, Pennsylvania resident William Kline is a truly lucky guy, because that’s exactly what happened to him. Both he and his 19-year-old son, Jeremy Kline, have always shared a love of motorcycles, but neither owned one. After months of discussing the possibility of buying one, the two headed out to a local Harley-Davidson dealership to take a look.
The elder Kline pointed out a bike he liked, but what happened next would blow him away.
“My son looks at the salesman and says, ‘I’ll take both of those,” Kline tells Lancaster Online. “The salesman laughed. So did I. Jeremy said, ‘what are you laughing at? I want both.’ And he was serious. Even through all my attempts at dissuading him, my son bought me a Harley. I asked him why and he simply said, ‘I need someone to ride with.'”

I asked him why and he simply said, “I need someone to ride with.”‘
And as it turns out, Jeremy’s generosity wouldn’t go unrecognized. The story was featured in Lancaster Online‘s ‘Shout Out Lancaster‘ column, which caught the eye of a Harley-Davidson employee. The employee got in touch with the Klines and invited them to tour the York Harley plant.
It’s a fitting end to a nice story. And while we’re sure William appreciates the amazing gift Jeremy gave him, we’d be willing to bet that the quality father/son time they spend riding together is worth more than any Harley price tag.
