Harley-Davidson To Roll Out a Small, Cheap Motorcycle, But You Can’t Have It
The new Harley-Davidson X 440T is HD’s latest little motorcycle
Back in 2023, Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycle manufacturer Hero MotorCorp joined forces to roll out the X 440. Now, the Bar & Shield has its latest offering in the same Harley-Davidson “X” family of motorcycles: the X 440T. Both bikes are small, single-cylinder applications with stripped-back retro styling.
The new Harley-Davidson X 440T is expected to be mechanically similar to the X 440, with a few mostly cosmetic tweaks. In typical Harley-Davidson fashion, the newer bike will get different color treatments, along with bar-end mirrors and a more aggressive, angular aesthetic. However, the X 440T will likely produce a similar output to the X 440 courtesy of the shared single-cylinder, air-oil cooled 440-cc long stroke engine.
No twin here.
X440T to likely start at around $3,000
HD’s Indian sales site lists the current 2025 Harley-Davidson X 440 starts at INR 2,39,500. That’s about $2,660 in cold, hard American cash. As for the newer X 440T, early pricing estimates put the little HD at between $2,800 and $3,200.
Sounds tempting, right? After all, there isn’t a single bike out there from a major manufacturer with anything close to that price point on the US market. Sure, you can get a 2026 Triumph Speed 400. But that bike starts at around $5,595– not exactly as bargain basement as the X 440T. Well, don’t start lining up for the diminutive Harley quite yet.
Not Available in the U.S.
That’s right. You won’t see many Harley-Davidson X 440Ts riding around on American streets and boulevards. See, Harley-Davidson sells the X 440 exclusively in the Indian market. As such, the bike likely won’t reach star-spangled shores anytime soon.
