Harley FXSTB Night Train

Amazing custom Harley proves that it takes both money and a skilled hand to build something worthy of magazine covers.

The road to a building a magazine-quality bike isn’t exactly one that’s smoothly paved. This stunning 2007 Harley FXSTB Night Train, which we spotted over at Deluxe Car Storage & Sales, is perfect proof of that. The previous owner picked up the stock bike when it was new, then proceeded to sink a whopping $64,000 into the two-wheeler making it cover worthy. And that investment paid off when the custom Harley landed on the front of American Iron Magazine.

So outside of pure cash, what is it that makes this Harley so special? Well, you needn’t look too far to figure that out. Most everything is custom or hand-made, including the Exile Cycles-built Monster wheels. Vintage H-D tires give the bike a bit of a throwback look. Which is further accentuated by the simple singular color paint. Toss in a Baker kick-start, and you might mistake this modern Harley for something much older.

The obsessive attention to detail here even trickled down to the drivetrain. The original engine and transmission were retained, yet blueprinted to perfection. Performance add-ons include a high-power Morris Magento and S&S carb. The whole thing was even powder-coated to give it an early Harley look. An open primary belt drive and chain final drive are nice finishing touches.

And then there are those many, many hand crafted parts that really set this Harley apart. The gas tank, fender, oil tank, exhaust, and leather saddle are just a few pieces you won’t find anywhere else. And all of that good stuff, combined with a skilled eye for style, adds up to one of the coolest custom bikes you’ll ever lay eyes on!
