I had the day off and this afternoon I remembered I had purchased a fuel filter and wrench back in December and have not yet changed it. I got to it and it was a very easy procedure taking less than 20 minutes.
My bike has 48k miles on my 2017 CVO Limited. I asked the dealer about the filter at the 45k service / new engine install and was told I did not need one. This was back in September. I read some threads here on HDF and also watched several YouTube videos and felt it was probably time. It was actually beyond time. The old filter was terrible. Blocking the bottom hole and blowing through the top I could hardly get any air through it.
The pump sounds so much better now with the new filter. I will look at these at the 20 to 25k mile range moving forward.
Old filter at top with 48k miles. New WHITE filter on bottom.
Plastic tool from Amazon.
I think this may have also solved another issue. I will know tomorrow. We are going on a 150 mile ride with our HOG Chapter. Yeah, 80 degrees here in NC.
Stay tuned.

Did the one on the Low Rider at 40k, was not quite that dirty but was time to change, did the Limited at 25k just for peace of mind, it was a bit dark itself. don't believe what the service manual says and wait till 100k to replace.
