Helite AirBag Vest Can Save Your Butt and Neck

Big Gear companies like Dainese and AlpineStars make airbag systems for motorcyclists but they can be expensive and are often built into race suits. MotoGP racers have had them integrated into their suit since the early 2000’s and for good reason.

However for us consumers, air bag systems can still be expensive. Helite is one of the great alternatives which costs almost half of what these other big brands charge and best of all, it works to save your life in the event of an unscheduled dismount.

In the video below, you can see that the Helite vest was quite effective and protecting this rider after he target fixated on an embankment heading into a left hander.

After being thrown from his bike, the rider swears at the effectiveness of the Helite system. I personally tried one of these vests on at AIMExpo a couple years ago and was astonished at how quickly it deployed and locked my head and neck in place.

You may not get as lucky as this rider and walk away totally unscathed or without a broken limb but you might. Every little bit of added safety on a motorcycle is worth it’s weight in gold and airbag systems seem to be the most logical choice.
