KennyBilt Harley-Davidson 9-Wheel Camper is a One-Off Automotive Masterpiece

KennyBilt is a nine-wheel mini semi camper that will go on display at Wheels Through Time Museum when it opens in April.

Harley-Davidson trikes are a hot ticket item in the collector circuits. We recently reported on a gorgeous Knucklehead TA trike that was up for sale at the recent Mecum Auction, Kissimmee. An eye-catching Harley Davidson nine-wheel camper called “KennyBilt” has become the latest addition to the North Carolina-based Wheels Through Time Museum.

The Museum is located in Maggie Valley and showcases more than 375 rare American motorcycles. In its latest video, Wheels Through Time’s official YouTube channel offered an in-depth walk-around of the Harley Davidson trike rig. Founder of the Museum, Dale Walksler, also shared his thoughts on the KennyBilt nine-wheeler.

“This thing is so incredibly well built, though. There wasn’t a ton wrong with it and a few things we don’t have figured out. I don’t know how the air horns work; we’ll get there,” said Walksler.

KennyBilt mini semi weighs around 4000 lbs and gets air brakes and a rear double axle. Furthermore, the transmission and clutch of the trike were modified, and an air brake setup takes care of the stopping duties.

The rig itself is a camper that doubles as a mini semi hooked up to a custom-built Harley Davidson trike. Wheels Through Time describes KennyBilt as the most famous Harley Davidson creation ever built. Huntsville Montana resident Kenny Kilpatrick is the mastermind behind this striking creation. It also took Kilpatrick almost ten years to turn his vision into a reality.

The project started around a 1340cc Harley Davidson engine, and the 30-foot contraption was finished in 1989. Even Harley Davidson was impressed by Kilpatrick’s nine-heeler. In addition to the Harley Davidson motor, the bike manufacturer also gave Kenny several other parts free of charge. He was also allowed to use Harley’s official logo and paint scheme for his rig.

“As you guys know, everything here at Wheels Through Time fires up and goes- rare machines, bikes with character, bikes with personality, and bikes with great stories. This thing is all of that and more. Happy to have it here at Wheels Through Time, make sure you come check it out when we open come April,” said Walksler.
