It’s Lit! Transparent Motorcycle Cylinder Head Looks Sick Until It Pops

Car, motorcycle, and engine modification is an ever-evolving community. One thing comes in, another thing goes out. One thing pops off, another thing gets stale. And although some people might find it all corny or disrespectful, to a point, to the manufacturers, who cares? These people love their cars and bikes enough to use them as creative outlets, and that is a great thing.

One of the most interesting modifications I have seen in a while is this “transparent cylinder head aka what looks like a thick piece of glass bolted onto an engine. Planted within that piece of glass is the spark plug. The glass gives us an up-close look at combustion in the engine while it’s happening. It looks freakin’ awesome.

But it’s not a fool-proof idea. Here’s what happens when you rev it high for an extended period of time:

It doesn’t explode, but having a spark plug pop out of place obviously isn’t safe. This is a great starting point, though. Somebody refine this and make it a real product so we can see MOAR EXPLOSIONS.
