Spring Fever: All the Little Things

Now that we have the bike ready to start, roll, and run, it’s time to go over the little things you should be keeping your eyes on.
Check your lighting, making sure your signals and brake lights are working. Also check your cables, as they may need lubed from not being in use, and most importantly, open your toolbox and go over the bike to make sure everything is tight.
Harleys have a history of loosening things, and a loose nut could mean a severe accident. Check your axle nuts first, as they’re probably the most important things which need to be tight. Then go over the rest of the bike, testing things with your wrenches and eyeballing everything to make sure it’s sound. Don’t forget to check your brakes as well–and remember they might have experienced some slight glazing while sitting. Be a bit careful the first couple times you use them.
I’ve probably forgotten a thing or two in this article, but what you have here is a great base to work from. Even if you ride year round, Spring is always a good time to give your bike a once over.
