Harley Street Glide Specials Theft

These professional criminals made off with a group of Harley Street Glide Specials in a well-planned and very calm heist.

While everyone despises a thief, sometimes, you just have to admire their ingenuity and skills. Sure, most thieves aren’t exactly scholars, but the more professional ones are adept at making off with goods quickly and efficiently, only to disappear into the night until the next heist takes place. And that’s certainly the case with these four criminals that recently made off with a bevy of Harley Street Glide Specials from a dealership in Kokomo, Indiana.

As we can see in this video footage obtained by the Kokomo Police Department, the thieves broke into the Harley dealership at around 3:22 am, wearing helmets and biker gear, which is convenient when you’re trying to conceal your identity and make a quick getaway. In less than a minute, they mount up on four Harley Street Glide Specials – one a 2020 model, the other three 2021 models – and ride right out the front door.

The total value of the bikes stolen comes in at $95,000, making this one of the quickest bucks we’ve seen “earned” in a while. Thing is, no one was in a hurry either, as the gang takes their sweet time mounting up and moving out of the door, single file. Clearly, they also chose these particular bikes for a reason, because they weren’t the closest ones to the door. Unlike the brazen acts we see in movies, these thieves are very careful with their new rides, and one even uses their turn signal when exiting the building.

Another notable thing about this job is that the thieves clearly knew where the keys were or had some sort of device that enabled them to start the bikes with no trouble. There was no hard wiring or other tomfoolery going on here, so it makes one wonder if they had scoped out the dealership or even taken a test ride prior to the theft. Personally, that seems highly likely to us, as it would have given away the location of the keys.

While we despise theft in all forms, we can’t help but be impressed by the cool, calm, and collected group’s efficiency. These clearly aren’t the sort of inexperienced low-lives we’re used to seeing in viral videos, which makes it highly likely that they got away with this criminal act, too.
