Decent Deeds Done Dirt Cheap: Bikers Helping Out
Despite what many people think, bikers are typically first to help those in need, no matter what their need might be.
For the most part, bikers get a bad rap. TV shows and movies depict all of us as criminals that are only out to party, get into fights, and smuggle various illegal items across the country. But in reality, the vast majority of bikers are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Generous folks who spend their free time helping others, raising money for those in need, and just generally doing good deeds. And during uncertain, scary times; the Harley community has stepped up again.
We’re well aware of this fact, of course. So we’ve collected a few real-life examples of bikers doing various good deeds, whether they be spontaneous or more organized efforts.
Tough Times, Tougher Bikers
Firefighters on Harleys deliver freshly-cooked meatloaf and bags of groceries to homeless young people across the metro every Monday and every Wednesday. Red Knights Minnesota Chapter 8, roll out! https://t.co/0IDNHvwlmU

Members of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club in Minnesota have been organizing efforts twice a week to deliver food to homeless youths. Members of the club, mostly current or retired firefighters, have made sure to take care of everyone during the Covid crisis, including those often overlooked.
According to the Twin Cities Pioneer Press, riders load up vehicles full of groceries and homemade meatloaf dinners and deliver it across the area.
Coordinated by husband and wife bikers, the club has long helped homeless teens and young adults in the community. They continue to do so with getting masks, food, supplies, and assistance to those displaced by shelter closures.
“Even when it’s really cold and nasty, these guys have been coming out and doing it,” said Red Knights Chapter 4 President Joel Nelson, Assistant Fire Chief with the West Metro Fire Rescue Department. “We’ve had more members than we needed, every single time.”
Welcome To The Badass Parade
Celebrating your 12th birthday in quarantine is, kind of a bummer. So Harley riders paired up with Datsuns to give this young gearhead the perfect parade of gas, chrome, and V-Twin goodness.
A Simple Act
In the clip below, we see a biker stop and help an elderly gentleman back up after he fell at an intersection. This simple act of decency really resonates. And warms the cockles of our hearts.
We’ve Got Your Back
Motorcyclists tend to have a bit of a reputation. But sometimes, that intimidation factor can be put to good use. That was certainly the case in this clip, which tells the tale of a local biker club who stood up for a 7-year-old who was being bullied at school. The young girl just so happens to ride a dirt bike herself, too! With her new crew, and sense of power; we pity the fool who tries to hassle her again.
Helping out, Harley-Style
This clip shows a biker riding around and handing out food to the homeless. Then, another one stops to help a motorist who’s stuck in the middle of the road. Meanwhile, a biker stops to clear some obstacles out of the middle of the road, while another buys gas for some folks who don’t have the money to fill their tank.
And these are just a few of the many, many examples of bikers helping those in need. So the next time somebody tries to tell you we’re a bunch of miscreants, point them in this direction and let them see the truth!
