Picked up my 2014 Streetglide Special today and immediately noticed the cramped brake pedal position. After a short ride I did a google search to find another brake pedal and found this discussion. Glad it's not only me having this problem.

The cotter pin on the clevis pin is almost impossible to see, much less get at to remove. I removed the floorboard and the two bolts holding the master cylinder to the frame, then carefully slid the entire unit out and changed the pedal . Rick has them ready to ship and is a great guy to deal with and answer any questions. AL
How much room does it leave for the lowers??? I have a 14 FLHXS and need to get a brake leaver down and out. I bought the billet shifter extensions bringing the heal 1" back and the toe 1" ahead. Also I have changed my floorboard pans to bring them ahead 1". All that is left to fix is the brake pedal.

On my Ultra, the brake pedal ,when fully depressed, is almost 1 1/2" from the filler panel in the lower at it's closest point. AL

I immediately noticed the height of the brake pedal on my '14 Limited and asked at the 1K check to have it lowered. Apparently it was not doable so now looking at one of the alternatives noted above.
As good as some of the changes were, some things like this are just hard to understand...

I just installed the Soft Brake pedal on my 2014 Limited tonight. This is exactly what I was looking for. I kept catching my boot under the stock one and it was uncomfortable in use.

After reading about the Soft Brake pedal here, I ordered one up. Two days later it arrived and I installed it this evening. I got the slotted chrome version to match my slotted shift levers on the other side.

I found the instructions folded up in the box AFTER I did the install

Things I found just by winging it. Don't reuse the Stock o-rings, they mess with the feel of the pedal. (that is in the instructions). I think it's easier to just remove the entire right foot board/master cylinder mount (it's only three allen screws). You can then easily get at the clevis pin to remove the old pedal. Mount the new one up and bolt the entire assembly back on.

Attached are pictures of the Stock and Soft Brake pedals.

It's one of the first things I noticed when I checked out the 2014's, having gone through this with the short stock lever on my '07 SG. It's good too see that SoftBrake has come out with a solution so quickly and less expensive than the future HD alternative I'm sure.

Did you get the standard lowered pedal or the "+1" pedal?
