After I installed a set of H9 LED bulbs (the type with the heat sink floppy wings) my FM radio reception seems to be somewhat distorted. Most of the time when I notice it and have my high beams on it will become less severe when I put the dims on. (I have H9's in both High and Low beams).
Is there a fix? Maybe a choke type device?
I called the Manufacturer of the bulbs and of course they have never heard of this before.
I pretty much never turn on the FM tuner anymore because of this self inflicted annoyance.
I never really ride at night, I just believe that the bright or difference appearance of the LED's make me more visible to on coming traffic. They complement the CD LED rings too.
I really don't want to spend a small fortune on a DayMaker if possible.
Get yourself a Truck Lite Phase 7. Not that expensive and brighter than ever. People will see you coming for miles in the bright daylight! I love mine.
I talked to my stereo guy before I put a Yaffe headlight in and he said some LED effect the FM signal. My Yaffe light does not. Not sure of a solution other than putting in a complete headlight.
