Default Anyone remove the front forks from 2014 Limited??

I have my bike tore down (pics in the thread "tore down and ready for powder coat") but I didn't remove forks. I am a decent mechanic but was leery about tearing into the front end. How hard is it and can it be done without special tools. My local wrench wants 400 dollars to do it and I can take the forks and get them coated. I think that's a fair price but not sure? Thanks

I'm in the same boat. I have another batch of stuff to coat and want to do the forks as well. My mechanic said $295. I haven't looked up any tutorials yet but I'm thinking the money is well worth it. I might go ahead and have him pull the rocker covers at the same time. Having half of the bike powdercoated is driving me nuts!

Not too hard, do a search I posted some pics when I did my chrome lowers. 19mm and 12mm allens needed. key points are setting fluid level correctly and getting forks back in at same height. Mike

I did the forks on mine, if you're fairly skilled and have the right tools it's a rather easy job.
