are you just talking about removing and reinstalling, or are you talking about a complete teardown, as in replacing the lowers with chrome or powdercoat?
if you are just talking about r and r, then 9 hrs is way too much. but if you are talking about a complete teardown, then it is more in line, though still a little high.
Nope. I put a Progressive Drop In kit and chrome lowers on mine, completely removing the fork tubes from the triple tree and it took me 3-4 hours max.....and thats a complete roll in, jack up, take it all apart, put it back together and roll it back out.....AND I had my kids coming in and bugging me too!!! With beers, it probably would have taken longer!! LOL!!
I would recommend buy a bike jack and a service manual and do it yourself. No time better to learn about your bike like the present.....AND you can do the work for much cheaper. You can always come here with questions. I know I've asked my fair share of questions here in the middle of a re-assembly and have always had good answers back. Good luck with the project!!
