Fork alignment
Now, don't tear me too big of a new one for not having a current service manual... Having said that, I'm reviewing the fork installation on my 09 fsm and there is no mention of any sort of fork alignment. I have never had forks off before and now that I have mine bolted back together, I'm a little nervous about alignment. Is some sort of alignment procedure recommended to ensure the forks are not binding or does the axle pull everything together where it needs to be? Thanks.

The lower sliders rotate to auto-correct themselves once everything is bolted back together I believe. I made Sharpie marks on mine just to try and get them back where they started, but I really dont think you have to. Once you have them all apart and back together, who's to say everything internally is exactly as it was when you started, (i.e. the lower sliders are probably not the same relative to the tubes)? I've put over 4000 miles on my bike since the change and it tracks straight as an arrow.
