Are S&S cams really better than SE

Sheffer Performance HD is in Evansville, IN about 4 hours from you...Darren is the man! I take the drive from Nashville to let him tune my bikes, well worth the trip!

Here's the best comparison chart I've seen between the Harley cam and an aftermarket cam, the highly regarded TTS100. This test shows the exact same test bike (a 107 M8), same exhaust, same everything, so the only difference is the cam......If I were to go for an aftermarket cam, I'd get the TTS100. It's a better, improved, full-power version of the SE447, same great torque curve, but more. It's stronger than the SE447 everywhere, at every RPM level.
The TTS 100 is my plan in a 114" M8 after warranty time is over (using the 447 H-D torque cam now). I'll also add the new 55mm SE aluminum intake manifold 55mm Intake Manifold. Exhaust and intake of your choice, usually selected for looks and sound preferences. Should be a great daily driver. I expect this to work fine with the SE Pro Street Tuner and Smart Tune PRO Automatic Tuning Module that I currently have (after another dyno tuning session).

This cam shootout series includes the SE power cam. Although it's not the torque cam, they explain why they chose that one for the comparison. Watch the full video and watch part 1 as well for other cam comparisons. Overall the aftermarket cams seem to do quite a bit better as others have said they would.

As a long time fan of aftermarket cams and tunes, I have to say that the SE stage 2 kit has been very satisfactory on my 114 Heritage. Keeping the warranty intact is certainly a bonus, and the price ($2,100 inc cam, rods, tuner, pipe, labor and tax) was close to what I’ve spent on a good stage 1 years past...but the performance is genuinely very good. Just another happy customer.
