It looks like they tried to keep the solid wheel look somewhat. I think it's okay to get away from the solid wheel look to freshen up the fat boy. I thought the 2021 solid wheels looked good. The solid wheels were not the main reason why I like the fat boy. I almost bought one. I have a road king instead and like the cast wheels on it.

WHY SO many posts on difficulty in turning at low speeds.. big tires. dont they all want to tip over on turns perhaps thinner front tires ?

I sold a Road Glide since it was way too heavy for me, and with my back problems I felt very uneasy on it. It had a front fat tire kit on it but I never noticed it. On my 2020 Fatty I never have a feeling of it wanting to fall over, etc. and it is one of the easiest bikes I have ever owned in 40+ years of riding. I suggest a test ride before buying though, which is what I did. Here is me when I just bought it...hard to tell it is the same bike now after all the mods!

I've only heard people complain about turning at speed, not in a parking lot. It's quiet easy to get the fat boy to turn at low speed. He's got fat tires, but is capable of handling hairpin motoGymkana turns.
My friend Maple got on my fat boy and could easily throw it through cones faster than I could.
Anyone who says it's bad at low speed, is just bad at motorcycles.
I can flip a U on a standard 2 lane residential road like nothing.
Just gotta preload that throttle and keep it loaded, pull that clutch in and modulate it, and bike flips around easy.
