An interesting case where a fact can be true and simultaneously misleading. Android's worldwide market share is more like 84% of all phones globally; Apple has a 16% market share. Samsung has the largest share of the global market, at around 28% of all phones bought worldwide.
BUT: in the USA, it's very different. Apple has 54% market share of the US market. And that's probably the far more important statistic here, assuming (yes, ASSuming) that the primary audience for FP4's is USA buyers.
How they can be having such struggles with the app are puzzling; I had an FP3 back in 2015 and everything about it just worked perfectly. Don't know why things are so bad with the FP4.

The FP3 was great, but I"m guessing (guessing from the limited information I've been told) with the FP4 it was just a matter of patent expiration and licensing issues and a lack of any competent management oversight on application development. If the whole idea in using a product is synergy with a mobile application that you advertise for, then it needs to properly work when launched.
The irony is they actually already HAD the tools in place to make it a great product. If they had simply opened up the web portal interface (that they only allow for professional shops) to it's end users, then the end user could simply have chosen a map, edit/customized, etc. then send that map via cloud to the FP4 to pull up and then flash.
Basically how a Power Vision 4 works right now.
They could have continued app development in the background while allowing customers to use a website interface that was already there, giving the product workable scale to use.
mine is an expensive paperweight so cross your fingers that it doesnt brick your BCM as you try to make it work
