Default 2" Chrome Bars - Thoughts/Comments?

I'd like to get some chrome 2" diameter bars for my 20 Fat Boy but I can't bring myself to pay $1200 for a set from Australia.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these or anything similar I found on eBay:

eBay 2" Bars

Also, if anyone knows of something better in a 2" I'd be interested in having a look.

This manufacturer out of South America makes ones: https://worldwide.wingscustom.com/
They have posted here on HD Forums in the past. Not bought from them so can’t comment on quality or experience buying from them. But the bars look nice.

That is still at a higher price range, $993 , that is plenty for some bars and will give them then at least 300% profit. I used to make my own bars in the past and if I was working for 2 hours on one that was long. I did the powder coating myself
or I let it chromed and that costed me approx $100 a piece so in material and labor it was in a price range between $250 ŕ $300 tops. A honest price for a bar should be around $500 tops and then you have 100% profit ... but in these days that
is not enough anymore.

Now that bar on Ebay looks good but not for me it is to thick, I like 1-1/2" way better, if you could get the source where it is made then it is a good price but my guess would be China. It is all about the strength of the welds and it is not the first that brakes off.

FYI the money is in the welding/fabricating for the step down at the handle bar clamp and controls. Add in drilling for internal wiring and then powder or chrome. Heck if I made my own bars probably still cost me $250 just to get them chromed, if I dressed the welds myself. Not as simple as just bending a tube and bolting them on.

The days of $100 handle bars are way behind us sorry to say, good luck with your decision.

Not sure what diameter mine are. I just had these done at the dealership since I could not deal with the drag bars the previous owner had on. Carlini 13". I think they are 1.5"

Not cheap. The dealer invoice showed $550 for the bars and $75 shipping. Yeah, I expected $500 or so for the bars but $75 shipping? Wow! My point is no matter what you decide, anything nice will be expensive. Personally my whole thing was spread and pullback. Plus I didn't want to go over 16" overall. So my choices were limited.

Good luck!

I like the bars but not as much as the 2" bars. I just think the 2" bars suit the big, burly Fat Boy.

Luckily we all have different tastes, otherwise it would get monotonous.

1-1/2" on my Fat Boy is enough for me, 2" I really think it's too fat but that's personal taste.

Yes everything does need to be proportional. Having seen and ultimately just purchased the 1.5" they make the 1" stock bars look quite inferior. Like they came from Wal-Mart or something LOL

I mentioned it somewhere on here recently...The larger bars also make it easier to pull cables through. In theory, less labor cost

I always had 1.5” bars on last Fatboy, and a friend had 2” bars on his breakout. My bars looked beefy until my bike sat next to his, then they looked small. Only thing I don’t like about 2” bars is, typically, your grips are smaller diameter than the bars, which is kind of strange. I think he bought his from a guy out of the UK - very expensive and slow turn around. I did not see your link, but have seen 2” bars on eBay that included the big risers for less than 25% of what some of these other shops are charging. If I really wanted them, I would have to give them a try, as there is no way I am paying $900+ for handlebars.
